Question 1

What can I ask my AI security companion?

Accepted Answer

Ask in natural language: Why is my score lower? What does this finding mean? What should I fix first? The built-in AI Security Analyst uses your workspace's assets, scans and findings to explain what it can see and suggest next steps. You can ask follow-up questions in the same conversation. It does not change your website or DNS, and it cannot verify anything outside the available data.

Question 2

Do I need technical knowledge?

Accepted Answer

No. Talk to your AI security companion in your own words and ask it to explain unfamiliar terms. Findings show what was detected, and guided plans help you or your provider make the change.

Question 3

Does NicoServe change anything on my website?

Accepted Answer

No. You apply changes at your provider. Supported guided fixes save a DNS restore point and show what to change; a later scan checks the result.

Question 4

What does it actually check?

Accepted Answer

Daily scans check HTTPS, SSL, DNS, email authentication and domain reputation. DNS coverage includes DNSSEC validation and CAA certificate-authority policy, so you know whether your DNS answers can be forged and who is allowed to issue certificates for your domain. Separate uptime checks monitor verified websites every five minutes. Discovery finds related subdomains and dangling DNS risks. Optional pen tests cover eight read-only exposure checks.

Question 5

Will you warn me before my certificate or domain expires?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Daily scans track SSL certificate and domain registration expiry and alert you at 30, 14 and 7 days, then again at 48 hours. An expired certificate or domain is raised as critical. Scans also flag leaked files such as .env or database dumps, defaced homepages and redirects to another domain.

Question 6

Can I check a site without signing up?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The free health check gives any domain an instant A–F grade covering HTTPS, browser security settings, SPF, DMARC, DNSSEC and CAA, with prioritised fixes. It only reads public information and doesn't save results.

Question 7

How does website uptime monitoring work?

Accepted Answer

Once you verify ownership, NicoServe checks your website over HTTPS every five minutes. Your asset overview shows availability history, response-time trends and recent checks. Repeated failures confirm an outage before an incident opens. Inconclusive checks are shown as unknown rather than counted as downtime. This monitors website availability, not every page or an entire checkout journey.

Question 8

What happens when my website goes down?

Accepted Answer

A confirmed outage automatically opens an uptime incident and sends an alert to your notification centre, subject to your incident-alert preferences. Open the notification to follow the incident timeline and acknowledge it. When successful checks confirm recovery, NicoServe closes the incident, records the recovery and sends another notification. You fix the underlying problem at your hosting provider; NicoServe does not restart or repair your website automatically.

Question 9

Can I send alerts to Slack or my own tools?

Accepted Answer

Yes. A workspace owner or admin can connect up to five Slack incoming webhooks or signed custom HTTPS webhooks from Notifications. Choose all severities, high and critical, or critical only for each channel. Recovery notices are included at every level. Alerts link to the relevant asset or incident. Slack and custom webhooks are included in the same plan; Teams, Discord and on-call integrations are not currently supported.

Question 10

How do I manage notification preferences and check delivery?

Accepted Answer

Notifications separates your personal delivery preferences and event choices from workspace-wide channels. Your personal switches do not pause team channels. Owners and admins can send a test alert, pause a channel, see its latest delivery status and retry a failed delivery. Endpoint addresses and signing secrets are encrypted and never displayed again. A successful delivery means the endpoint accepted the alert, not that someone read it.

Question 11

Can I display all my assets on an office or NOC screen?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Open Wall view in your signed-in workspace for a high-level board of all your assets. It shows colour-coded status, security scores, 24-hour uptime, average response times, last check times and open incident counts. Assets with problems appear first. The board refreshes every minute and has a full-screen option for office displays and network operations centres (NOCs). Select an asset to open its details. The board refresh does not change the five-minute uptime-check schedule. Wall view is included in the same plan; it is not a public status page.

Question 12

What does domain reputation monitoring cover?

Accepted Answer

Daily checks query URLhaus for reported malware URLs on your host and parent domain, and you can run a check on demand from any verified site. Results include the source, check time and raw lookup output. Historical reports are separated from URLs reported online. Not listed is not a guarantee of safety, and unavailable lookups never clear existing findings. You resolve the cause and request removal with the provider; NicoServe does not remove reports automatically. Included in every account.

Question 13

How can I prioritise security across many domains?

Accepted Answer

The risk-first dashboard brings security rating, critical and high findings, open incidents, upcoming expiries and 24-hour fleet availability together. Its asset table puts problem sites first, with search, status, verification and category filters. Each row shows score, open issues, uptime, expiry and last scan, with links to investigate or rescan.

Question 14

Can I download an executive security report?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Select Export executive PDF in your dashboard's Executive overview. The report includes current posture, open threats, asset inventory, 24-hour uptime, expiry countdowns and 30-day score and activity totals. It covers assets visible to your account and is included in the same plan. Missing data stays marked unknown. It is a security snapshot, not a compliance certification.

Question 15

What does the activity history show?

Accepted Answer

Executive overview shows 30 days of completed scans, current remediation states and incident timeline events. Filter by activity type and open the relevant asset or incident for details. Score trends show the latest known scores and how many assets have been scored; changes in coverage can affect the average. This is activity history, not an immutable audit log.

Question 16

How does safe pen testing work?

Accepted Answer

Verify ownership and confirm permission before each run. The read-only test checks public pages on the same site, using up to 60 requests. Findings affect your score and appear in a downloadable report. Retest after making a fix. One run per site every 24 hours, up to three per workspace per day.

Question 17

Can I undo a change?

Accepted Answer

Yes, for saved DNS records. Compare a snapshot with live records and follow rollback steps at your provider. NicoServe does not restore DNS automatically.

Question 18

Does Safe Autopilot apply fixes for me?

Accepted Answer

No. For eligible email-record issues, it prepares the DNS fix and checks later scans. You still make the change yourself.

Question 19

How much does it cost?

Accepted Answer

One plan with every feature included, including uptime monitoring and automatic outage and recovery incidents: €29 per month for up to 20 protected domains. Each additional domain is €5 per month.
